Revelation 2:28: And I
will give him the morning star.”
What is this gift Christ is promising to the overcoming Church at Thyatira? For the answer look at 2 Peter 1:19:
We have also a more sure word
of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that
shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your
hearts.
The morning
star is "the sure word of prophecy." It is analogous to the bright star
that rises just before dawn in the eastern sky, notably the planet Venus. It
heralds the approach of the sun, the "day star." Christ is the Day Star, but until His Kingdom rules, we
have the morning star, the sure word
of prophecy that heralds His coming.
2:29. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches. The message is not only to the Church at Thyatira at that time and place, but to everyone who has ears. Let the modern Church world hear.
